ISOLA DI PONZA: Our B&B is located in La Piana, a place in Le  Forna, one of the two  villages on Ponza,situated in a  panoramic position with view over the sea . Le Forna is to be decribed  the more intemate and calm area on this island mostly populated by fisherman and theire families in contrast to the habour area which in summertime turns more into a partyplace. Anyway you wont have to miss any convenience in le Forna. In fact even if the Habour of Ponza, where the ferries arrive, is  about six kilometres away , you'll find everything you need like restaurants,  boat rentals, cinema arena, shops, the church, a cashmashine and many   accesses  to the most recomended bays of the island.

The Faraglioni of Lucia Rosa, Cala Gaetano, Piscine  Naturali, Cala Inferno and Cala Fonte are only  max. 1,5 kilometres away from the bed and breakfast Isola di Ponza

click here to see the description of the house and to know the services that we offer  to our guests: the palmsgardens  and oleandre flowers, the sunterasse with his small 5 places yakuzzi. In the garden and on the sunterasse the all wooden furniture are for guest use exclusivly.  The sea Only 100 mt. away from the garden is a little bay which can be reached easly by a small step (about 100 steps). Comfortable rooms, with independent entry and private bath, small refrigerator (no minibar) for your use and air conditioning.We have also one big room  without architectural barriers which can be suitable for handicaped people.The  big bathroom of this room is decorated with the typical handicraft ceramics of Vietri  so the   tiles, painted in all the colours of the blue  of our sea with some little fishes , give you the illusion to be swimming  inside  an aquarium

 

ATTENTION:

We love and we do have animals so we gladly accept  the small, polite and  absolutely not disturbing little friends of our guests (always  with the leash and with the muzzle obligatorily ,in the respect of the other guests of house) Anyway peopel who do not tolerate the presents of  animals, would probably not be  really happy at home in

Introduction: Andrea,why did i choose the  life on the island of Ponza

I was about twenty years old   and when I came back after  a long vacation in Kenya (practically the whole winter) and I understood what the  term " longing for  Africa " should mean ; in fact the first signs of  homesickness  for that unique country  already started  to  appear a few days before coming back  to  Italy  but  then I was not brave enough  to  remain. After some time I  discovered the island of Ponza and I  finally have knew where to go to live my  " colonizer" instinct and so from  that moment  I didn't turn go anymore... anyway also Jacques Yves Cousteau, who we can describe an  expert in travelling all the seas around the world, sustained that Ponza is one of the most beautiful islands that he had ever known

 

In this section you will find the gallery of the photographs of Ponza, selected by Andrea de Bellis, who lived 15 years travelling between Rome and  this  island and than finally, in 1999 he decided to move  out from Rome to definitely live in this paradise for the whole year and  today if Andrea had to turn back... he  would surely make  the same choice

P.S. The most beautiful photographs have been taken by  my friends Adriano Bacchella and Leandro Ricci,  " true " photographers, the underwater photos have  kindly been granted to me by the Ponza Diving Center , while I've taken the worst photographs, but here we  say that  every cockroah appears beautiful to  his mother eyes... and so I  have thought to  insert them all together , please be patience !

ADVICE: whoever necessarily needs to  go round the island with the camera. In fact it may  happen that,  perhaps you'll meet the dolphins ready to swim under the boat which brings you back from a journey in Palmarola or Zannone and after a while when you're  coming back to B.& B. you'll see  a wandering hawk  flying  above you  suspended in air, with the immovable wings like a steel blade, sustained by the breeze of the sea and so, while you are searching  for the  correct frame and  the best light to immortalize that masterpiece of the nature,  you realize  the heaven turning red like fire  and you remain  motionless  to dream on...
